Michael McConachie

Michael was born in Dufftown 1948 and grew up at Nether Ardwell in the house that is now the Doronell Rangers office. Michael can trace his Cabrach ancestors back to 1745 at Broomknowes, along with later moves of family members to Badchear and Nether Ardwell. Michael grew up with his grandparents Jimmy and Maggie McConachie at Nether Ardwell and went to primary school in the Cabrach. His early years were mostly centred around the farm, helping his grandparents with the seasonal work. Michael left the Cabrach in 1969 when he moved to Dufftown and began his professional life working in a bank in Keith. Michael is now retired and lives in Dufftown.
