Maureen Sheed

Maureen Sheed first came to live in the Cabrach in 1973 when she married her husband David Sheed. They made their home together at Aldunie and brought up their two boys, Martin and Neil, on the farm. Maureen grew up on a farm in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire and immediately felt at home when she moved to the Cabrach. She recalls a strong sense of community and deep interconnection between family heritage and the landscape.

Souter Sheed

Maureen Sheed tells the story of ‘Souter Sheed’ the name for an old shoemaker up here and a distant cousin of the Sheed family.
