Ian Mackintosh

Ian was born in Grantown on Spey in 1942. He has lived at Sandyhillock near Craigellachie for over fifty years. Ian spent his most of his working life as a forester in the Forestry Commission until he took early retirement to concentrate on running his farm. In 1969, Ian’s father bought three farms in the Cabrach; Mains of Lesmurdie, Boghead and Findouran. Ian would visit his parents most weekends and help out until his father sold the farms in the late 1970s. At that time there was no mains power in the Cabrach and homes were powered by diesel generators.
