Launch of Local Place Plan Consultation

Exciting Steps Forward for The Cabrach: Shaping Our Future Together!

We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone in our journey towards a vibrant, sustainable future for The Cabrach! The DRAFT Cabrach Local Place Plan (LPP) for 2024-2029 is now available for public consultation, marking the next phase in the regeneration of our beautiful region in Moray, North East Scotland.

From Monday, 21st October to Monday, 18th November 2024, you have the opportunity to share your thoughts, ideas, and feedback on this forward-thinking plan. This is a key moment for our community, and your input is crucial in shaping the future of The Cabrach.

A Bold Vision for the Future

The Cabrach Local Place Plan is more than just a strategic document—it’s a shared vision to create a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable future for all who call The Cabrach home. Spearheaded by The Cabrach Trust, this plan is built on the strengths of our natural and cultural heritage, and aims to ensure that our community is economically and socially vibrant for years to come.

At its core, the LPP is driven by a clear mission: to foster growth, well-being, and ensure that everyone—regardless of age, background, or ability—feels connected, empowered, and able to contribute to The Cabrach’s future.

Guided by Community Values

The LPP is deeply rooted in values that we all hold dear: inclusivity, collaboration, sustainability, and entrepreneurial diversity. As we embark on this journey, we’re aligning our goals with the wider ambition for a just transition to net zero, ensuring that our development is in harmony with environmental stewardship and the long-term health of our landscape.

Listening to YOU: Shaping the Plan Together

Since May, we’ve worked closely with 185 people from all walks of life to shape this plan through community consultations, events, surveys, and informal gatherings. From BBQs and pizza nights to more formal feedback sessions, we’ve made sure that everyone had a voice in this process.

Thanks to your input, we’ve identified the priorities that matter most to our community—ranging from housing and local employment to enhancing our natural surroundings and promoting heritage tourism.

Priorities for The Cabrach’s Future

Through your feedback, we’ve established four key themes that will guide our work over the next five years:
