Event Details

This series of 6 community workshops aims to introduce various printmaking techniques that are inspired by the Cabrach, facilitated by Hayley Anderson of Buff and Blueprints.

Participants will attend each workshop to progress and learn new techniques, consider the Cabrach and surroundings and use the inspiration found in this beautiful landscape to produce their own portfolio of prints.  Techniques that will be taught are multi-block compositions, jigsaw cuts, monoprints and using a combination of the techniques to print onto a variety of media.

The community project will be presented as an exhibition in the Cabrach with a selection of the works available to purchase as limited editions.

This project is fully funded by Moray Local Action Fund, and priority will be allocated to community members*, although we welcome interest from anyone.

Participants will attend all workshops in the block (see dates below).  Although we recognise this is a commitment and can discuss further if this presents a problem.

About the workshop tutor – Hayley Anderson – Buff and Blue Prints

Hayley Anderson is an Artist, Printmaker, and community arts practitioner from North East Scotland.

She works principally in mediums relating to print, installation, and textiles. Her practice centres around explorations of self and identity, and relationships with the environment.

Her primary grounds for exploration look at how female narration within art and storytelling can be re-framed in contemporary society to bring focus to women’s achievements outside of childbearing and physical appearance.  Her most recent works are based on Scottish Mythology.  Functioning as a sanative device- she aims to generate conversations around how the value of lived experience can be utilised in social and professional platforms and can be shaped through culture, community, and class.
