An 8 week stitch and sewing workshop for beginners or those that just want to sew with others!

As the nights draw in it is good to have a get together with like-minded folk and do something relaxing…. like sewing!

The stitch and sew workshop is an 8-week workshop, every Thursday. The group workshop will be with Morag Tweedie and Penny MacKenzie, both experienced textile professionals.

Over the 8 weeks we will learn the basics of the sewing machine, hand sewing and different techniques. We will then design and make our own table runner in a choice of your own fabric, colours etc.

Then we move on to a project of your choice that you would either like to do get a little help and advice with or just be in the good company of others.

If you have your own sewing machine you can bring that along with you, this will help you get acquainted with it. If you do not have a machine, please let us know on the booking form and we will be able to provide one for you to use.

At the first session we will discuss design and fabrics so that you can bring your own if you have a particular colour or design in mind but there will be limited fabric available. You might also want to recycle material you have.

Tea and Coffee will be provided.

The cost of the workshops have been reduced due to secured funding through the mental health and wellbeing fund, therefore we are able to offer this 8 week workshop for £20 per person.

The group will be kept to a maximum of 6 people to ensure a helpful experience.

Please note that it is not essential that you attend every workshop, please let us know though if there are dates you can not attend.
