The Cabrach Trust is delighted to open the Cabrach Discovery Trail to the community and visitors.
Delivered in collaboration with the Cabrach Community Association and funded by the Dorenell Windfarm Community Fund, Gordon and Ena Baxters Foundation and The Adams Family Foundation, the Cabrach Discovery Trail navigates the eastern boundary of Inverharroch Farm, framed by the three main rivers in the Cabrach, The River Deveron, Blackwater and Charach Water.
Starting at our newly restored rural skills bothy, the ‘all ability’ path meanders along the riverside to the nature ponds and wildflower meadow before passing through the newly planted Forest of Hope, and turning towards Blackwater bridge and the community picnic area.
Along the trail there is information about the rivers, trees, flora and fauna that can be found in the area as well as pond dipping platforms, plant and tree identification stations and all-weather nature watching in our nature hide.
There is something for everyone to enjoy, whether it’s a walk with the family, to exercise for the dog or to sit by the riverside and breathe in the fresh air whilst listening to the sounds of the Cabrach.
Following the official opening there will be an opportunity to take a guided walk along the trails and to find out about the exciting development at Inverharroch.
Tea, coffee and cakes will be served in the Acorn Centre.
