Projects
This project delivered a brand-new community asset for the Cabrach community, and visitors to the area, to enjoy the great landscape and natural beauty of Inverharroch Farm.
This project combined the installation of 2km of new, all accessible pathways, to form an innovative well-being asset for the community along the banks of the Deveron and Blackwater rivers which are the main water courses of the Cabrach. The creation of two nature ponds, dipping platforms, and the sowing of a wildflower meadow by the community has also been completed, complimented by a planting programme extending to 3000 native, broadleaf trees thus far. The final programme of activity encompassing the installation of interpretation boards, visitor map, outdoor furniture, and a bespoke nature hide on the banks of the Deveron was completed in Summer 2022. The project as a whole provides significant scope for further volunteering activities, school engagement, rural skills training, and additional events.
The trail was officially opened to the public by the Lord of Lieutenant of Banffshire.
